jude bellingham football shirt The ABN Amro Future Cup has become a household name in international youth football. The first edition was held in 2010, and since then the Under-17 teams of the world’s top clubs gather annually to compete.
The competitors change every year with clubs and national sides both playing in the tournament. In the maiden year, China’s Under 17s reached the final, only to lose to Ajax, led by current first-team captain and that year’s player of the tournament Davy Klaassen. Stefano Denswil and Lesly de Sa, who both represented Ajax’s senior side, and Ouasim Bouy, before his departure to Juventus, were also winners that year.

Ajax have since gone on to win the tournament in 2012 and 2014, while Anderlecht won it in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Last year’s edition, however, belonged to Arsenal as they beat Anderlecht on penalties in the final and return this term to defend their title.
The likes of Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester United and Liverpool have also appeared in the tournament, fielding some prodigious talents, with the best of the bunch being given the Adidas Best Player of the Future Cup award.
